Working with you to attract your ideal customers

You’re at a point where you need to show your website some love and attention to move your business forward.

You deserve to work with someone who will help you create a website that shows off your personality. And helps you connect with your target audience. Someone who will listen to you. And who you can talk to without judgement. Someone who will get immersed in your business. And involve you at every step of the process.

Every business is unique, with its own set of challenges. That’s why I’m not a one-website-fits-all kind of designer.

My ethos

Every business deserves a website that…

  • is an accurate reflection of what you and your services and products stand for;
  • helps you attract your ideal customers; and
  • generates new business opportunities.

I love working with businesses who are at a point of change. And especially a point of change that impacts your website.

This could include…

  • Rebranding your business
  • Moving into a new niche
  • Expanding your client base
  • Redefining your service offering

The Wise Genius Process

The process of creating a website for your business can be daunting. Which is why I follow a tried and tested process to get your site up and running.

I start by finding out as much as possible about you and your business, and the proposed project. You do the talking, I listen and ask questions.

Together, we organise your website content and create a site map. We decide how the navigation and calls to action will get visitors moving around the site. You pull together your content, including text, photographs, testimonials, videos and graphics. Everything that helps us deliver the best experience to your audience.

Where we play with layouts, fonts and colours, to make your website look fabulous.

Where the fun begins and your website takes shape! I will create a live version of your site in WordPress for you to mess around with. And give feedback on.

Once testing is complete and all the niggly bits ironed out, we are good to go live. I’ll upload the site to its domain and you can start to shout about it!

After your site has gone live, I’ll provide you with a handover session. I will remain on hand to deal with any problems. And if you’d like help managing the site going forward, I offer a variety of support options.

Happy clients

Susie designed my website ensuring that it worked technically in all viewing formats. The real value she added was in understanding my business and helping me select a design that illustrated the assets of my business. She asked the challenging questions that led to a better final product and informed my wider business development.

Inspiring Partnerships

From the initial meeting, we were confident that Susie had understood the brief for the re-design of our website. We liked that it would be Susie herself who would be undertaking the work rather than it disappearing into some distant in-tray of a larger organisation. The design work was well planned and documented, with regular feedback. The resulting design met our brief for a fresh, easier-to-navigate website.

I was especially pleased to be recommended to Susie from Wise Genius as I wanted someone experienced with WordPress. I was enormously relieved to leave my half-built website in her capable hands. She did a great job taking over something that was already started, but a little muddled. I now have a clear, professional looking website that does what I want it to do.

Why WordPress?

I’ve been building websites with WordPress for over 12 years.

But what exactly is WordPress?

In short, it is an easy way to create a website or blog.

WordPress is an open-source content management system. It currently powers over 40% of all active websites (W3Techs.com, January 2023). Including big corporations like Sony Music and small businesses like yours.

So, what is so special about WordPress?

  • Open source means it is free to use. WordPress kept up to date and maintained by its community of contributors.
  • It’s easy to customise. Thanks to its system of themes and plugins, you can create any kind of website.
  • It’s flexible, adapting to the changing needs of your business.
  • It’s user friendly. The WordPress Dashboard has a simple interface to help you manage your site.
  • It’s search-engine friendly. Google and other search engines love WordPress because of how it’s coded.
  • It supports different media types, so you can upload images, documents, videos, and audio with ease.
  • And support for WordPress is everywhere. Its active community has generated many blogs, forums, online courses, and books.
