General FAQs

How much does a website cost?

The cost of designing and building a website varies based on a few factors, including the level of functionality required for your business. A WordPress site from Wise Genius starts from £2,500, ranging upwards to suit your specific requirements. View website package details.

How does your payment process work?

I ask for 50% of the agreed project fee up-front before work begins, with a further instalment of 30% at the build stage; the final payment is due once the website is live.

How long does it take to build a website?

The length of a website design and build varies depending on the complexity of the project, starting from 6 to 8 weeks. I will work with you to agree a project timeline that suits your needs, setting milestones to keep us on track.

I’d really love to work with you! What do I need to do next?

Book a discovery call so we can talk through your ideas. This is a free, no-obligation chat. I will follow-up with a proposal and quote, plus any other information I’ve agreed to provide.

Can you help me write content for my website?

Unfortunately, not. I do know several talented copywriters who will do an excellent job for you.

What about finding photographs for my website?

I can direct you to some quality stock photograph providers, such as Unsplash. I can also recommend photographers and videographers to produce custom images and video content.

Do I own my website once you’ve built it?

Absolutely! You own the website Wise Genius designs and builds for you, plus the visual elements created for it.

Website support plans

Help! I’m not sure which plan would work best for me.

No problem! Just book a call to discuss your options. I’ll explain how things work and talk about what you need support with. And recommend the ideal plan.

How do I pay for my support plan?

Once we’ve decided on your ideal support plan, you set-up a standing order for the agreed monthly fee. This is payable in advance on the first day of the month. I will send you a receipt for your records.

How long do plans last?

For as long as you need them to! All plans are subject to a minimum 3-month agreement. We review your plan every 3 months to make sure you are getting the right level of support.

What if I want to cancel?

You need to give one month’s notice to end a WordPress support plan.

There’s an issue with my site! What do I do?

Send me an email with details of what is wrong, and I will get to work sorting the issue out.

Website Untangling

Is website untangling right for me?

If you have WordPress headaches or built your own site and want occasional expert guidance—yes!

Note: I don’t cover copywriting, SEO, or hosting/email issues.

What if my issues need more than an hour to untangle?

No problem. We can book a longer session or a second call. I’ll always discuss and agree on any extra costs with you first.

WordPress Handled

How does WordPress Handled work?

You’ve got some work that needs doing on your WordPress website. Let me know what needs doing by completing an enquiry form or sending me an email. I’ll get back to you within 48 hours with a quote & timeline. And probably some questions! Once everything is agreed, I schedule the work & complete it within a week (often sooner).

What if my job is urgent?

Get in touch and let me know it’s urgent. I’ll do my best to fit you in sooner, though rush jobs may incur an additional fee.

What information do you need from me?

Tell me what needs doing and give me access to your WordPress admin (I’ll guide you through this). If it’s hosting or technical work, I might need additional access.

What if the job turns out to be bigger than expected?

I’ll always let you know if something’s more complicated than it first appeared. You’ll get an updated quote before I do any additional work.

What happens if something goes wrong?

I take backups before making changes, and I test everything thoroughly. In the unlikely event something does go wrong, I’ll fix it at no extra cost.
