When was the last time you made a backup of your website? Don’t remember? Well, I’ve put together a short video to guide you through the process. And I’m using a WordPress plugin, UpdraftPlus.

Creating a backup of a WordPress site is essential before updating the core software. If something goes wrong, you need a stable version of your website to fall back on. It is also a good idea to make a backup after updating plugins and themes.

Running a regular backup protects you if something bad was to happen to your website. Think of it like an insurance policy – you have one for your car and house, why not your website too?

In this video, I talk you through installing and activating UpdraftPlus. There is an overview of setting up a remote storage solution for your backups. And you find out how to create an actual backup of your website.

I hope this video is useful. Please get in touch to let me know what other “how-to” videos you would like to see.
